We Took the Chocolate Pill and Brought Snacks for Your Strategy

Welcome to the delightful mess that is The Chocolate Pill—the podcast from a growth company run by three marketers who’ve actually done the work and aren’t afraid to call out what’s broken in modern marketing…and how to fix it without burning everything down.

In this debut, your hosts Sandi (Denver), Chris (just north of San Diego), and Erin (Austin) introduce themselves, their company Miracle Max, and their mission: help scaling companies storm the marketing castle with less chaos and more clarity.

So who are we, really?

Sandi has survived seven merger acquisitions and advised more Founders and CMOs than most agencies pitch in a year. With experience at both Fortune 100s and scrappy startups, she brings deep knowledge of product marketing, org design, GTM, and what it actually takes to keep marketing effective during (yet another) reorg.

Chris is your go-to guy when you need a GTM strategy built from scratch. From headcount and budgets to tooling and demand gen execution, he’s seen (and cleaned up) every flavor of startup dysfunction. Bonus: he’s one of the few who still believes frameworks are your friend, especially when tribal knowledge walks out the door with your last marketing lead.

Erin is the content glue of the group. A Webby Award Honoree and founding content strategist everywhere she’s worked, she brings the words, the workflow, and the editorial muscle. Whether it's SEO, AI-infused content ops, or brand storytelling, Erin’s already 10 steps ahead (and possibly judging your grammar.)

Together, we’re Miracle Max: a growth company built to jumpstart momentum and make marketing actually make money by helping founders and CMOs build momentum without adding unnecessary headcount.

What we covered in Episode 1 (between the Schweddy Ball jokes and tech glitches):

  • How we met and formed Miracle Max (pop culture references included)

  • Why the name? Hint: Because “mostly dead” marketing deserves a miracle.

  • Why fractional marketing is blowing up right now, and how we do it differently

  • What we do for clients (product marketing, content, GTM, events, demand gen… you name it)

  • Why marketing teams are in flux, and why “just hiring an agency” isn’t always the fix

  • Why we’re seeing shorter strategic time horizons (and how to plan around them)

  • The real reason so many teams are siloed

  • Why we started this podcast (and why it’s not a promo machine)

Coming Soon: Inconceivably Good Marketing Advice

In upcoming episodes, we’ll dig deeper into the kinds of real-world challenges we’ve seen across dozens of marketing teams. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come:

  • Frameworks that actually fix stuff. We’ll break down how to stop relying on “tribal knowledge” and start scaling with systems that work. No sacred spreadsheets required.

  • Your CMO left. Now what? Whether it’s a reorg, a resignation, or just a budget freeze, we’ll talk about how to design a marketing team that flexes with your business, not against it.

  • Content chaos, meet strategy. We’ll show you how to connect the dots between brand, content, sales, and SEO so your campaigns actually make sense together.

  • Fractional ain’t freelance. What does it mean to bring in a growth company that operates like an extension of your in-house team? We’ll break down the difference and why it matters.

  • Messaging that doesn’t self-sabotage. If your homepage, your ads, and your sales deck are telling three different stories, we’ve got ideas for how to fix it fast.

And hey, if there’s a marketing mess you’re trying to mop up, we want to hear about it. Drop us a note or DM one of us on LinkedIn and we might just dedicate an episode to it. (We’ll even pretend it’s anonymous.)

TL;DR?

We're not here to promote. We're here to arm. Each episode of The Chocolate Pill is packed with the kind of tactical insight you'd expect from a team that runs a growth company. We’ll introduce you to experts and share the strategies, war stories, and forehead-smacking moments and lessons we’ve learned along the way (plus a few laughs and more Princess Bride references than strictly necessary.)

Next up: episode 2, Shiny Objects, Big Promises, and the Content Engine You Actually Need. Stay tuned, subscribe, and send us your burning questions.
